Jeff is a midwesterner based in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Carnegie Mellon University where he studied theater, set and costume design, and puppetry— followed by Savannah College of Art and Design where he focused on illustration.
He has worked as a Set Designer and Associate Designer for countless plays and musicals in New York, as well as for productions— including opera and ballet— in the United States and abroad. In addition to being sought after as a storyboard artist, he is also often asked to sketch and create the elaborate paint elevations for Broadway and television scenery— now frequently printed at full scale instead of being handed over to scenic artists.
His editorial illustration portfolio can be seen at JeffHinchee.com, and features selected work from American Illustration 34, 3x3 Illustration Annual 11, “Chance Magazine”, “The New York Times Magazine”, “Vogue Living”, “Lighting and Sound America”, Broadway Impact, Broadway Box Office, Metro Spirit, Haus and Home LA.
